Reading Ambassadors Visit to Deepings Library
Visit to Market Deeping Library.
On Wednesday 5th July some of our Reading Ambassadors were invited to visit the Market Deeping library. They took part in a range of activities including, listening to stories in Storytime, learning to put books back on the shelves using the Dewey system and scanning books in and out, sometimes with real customers.
Running out of books to read?
The library is now run by volunteers who have worked really hard to keep the library going. They have just extended their opening times and are now open on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. If your child loves reading and is not already a member it is really easy to sign them up and to start borrowing books. Just pop down to the library and speak to Louisa who will help you join.
Bored in the summer holidays?
In addition to loaning books the library are running some fun activities during the holidays for the children to take part in including,
Lego club – Mondays at 12.30pm – 5pm,
Storytime - Wednesday at 2pm
Craft Club – Friday at 10am – 5pm.
Summer Reading Challenge 2017
There will also a Summer Reading Challenge that starts on Saturday 15th July and which we will launch in school. This year it is called Animal Agents and the children are encouraged to ‘join forces with the crime-cracking Animal Agents’ and to solve clues as they read! All children at school will be invited to take part so head down to the library to sign up and get your free pack and start reading. Happy reading!
We would like to thank Louisa and the other volunteers, who made us feel very welcome, for their kind invitation to visit. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are already looking forward to their next visit.
