On Friday 20th January, we enjoyed a crisp, cold, but fantastic den building day!
First we made team flags, came up with a team name, practised making mini den 3D shapes and used the TASC wheel to plan out what type of den we were going to build.
Next we put on our extra layers and made our way into the Great Outdoors. We started to build our den structures using sticks and zip ties. We were sure to take care when choosing our structure shape and make sure it was strong and stable.
In the afternoon, it was time to make our dens waterproof, so we used tarpaulins and other materials to cover our dens and added pegs to hold them in place. Once it was ready we got to enjoy a biscuit inside our den - we earned them as we had been so busy all day!
Finally we had to test our dens to check they were waterproof! We all watched as each den had water thrown over it - some of us stayed dry, but some of us didn't...
Overall we had a great day! But don't take my word for it, here are some of the children telling you how their day was...
