LKS2 2020 Summer Term Home Learning Week 5
From this week onwards maths will look a little bit different. You will still need to visit the usual website to watch the teaching video but the worksheets will now only be available here on the school website.
For the videos this week:
year 3 you will need to open this document to find the links
Monday- Watch the following video of a book being read. Summarise the key theme of the book and how it made you feel.
Tuesday- Can you write in chronological order who Stanley saw that day, use adjectives and verbs to describe each animal.
Wednesday- Write a diary entry as if you were Stanley! Who did you see, how did you feel, what happened to you? Make sure you use adjectives to describe your emotions and what you saw and verbs to describe what you did and what happened to you.
Challenge- Can you include Speech in your Diary “Hello” I said to the colourful Jellyfish.
Thursday- Create your own character made of a piece of rubbish, e.g. Poppy the Plastic bottle.
Draw your character and describe underneath what adventure your character could go on.
Friday - Here is a extact from a story, use your VIPERS skills to answer the questions based on what you read.
This term Year 3 are looking at parts of plants. This week you are going to learn how the same plants grow in new places. This is done through seed dispersal. Watch this video https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/clips/znvfb9q to introduce you to seed dispersal. Now look through this powerpoint to find out more about each type of seed dispersal. In your book write down examples of seeds which are dispersed in this way and anything you learnt about that type of seed dispersal, use the subheadings – water, explosions, animals, wind.
This term Year 4 are grouping living things. This week you are going to be making your own branching tree. Here is a reminder of what a branching tree looks like. Look back at your list of living things from last week (or use this page of living things) and make a branching tree of your own. Remember your questions should be yes/no questions and each living thing should only go in one category.
Our topic this term is Eco enthusiasts, so we thought this terms learning should be based around this and your pre-learning from before Easter.
This week - endangered-animals.ppt
This term in computing we are going to be using scratch.mit.edu
Year 3 Use what you learning about sprites and scratch last week. Have another look at last weeks powerpoint if you need to. Use this weeks powerpoint to make 2 sprites have a conversation, follow the step by step instructions to make this happen. Then make your characters play a ball game, follow the instructions to make this happen.
Year 4 This week you are going to extend your learning from last week, you might want to look back at last weeks powerpoint to help you. The lessons are very similar, this week there is more of a focus on you independtly using your skills from last week. Again, there are different instructions for computers and iPads so make sure you are following the correct instructions. If you are working on a computer then you will be making a multiplayer game, either one similar to last weeks game or a game of your choice. If you are working on an iPad then you will be adding obstacles on the road. To complete each of these tasks you will need to follow the instructions you already have but change the one thing to ensure you are adding new characters or items.
You might want to take a picture of what you have done and post it on seesaw.
