Play the Vikings game

Summarise what you had to do in the game.

If you cannot access the game then research what you can about the Vikings’ battles and adventures.

Think of as any imperative verbs and time adverbials as you can. Make a list for each word type. Once you have done that write at least 10 sentences that include both a time adverbial and an imperative verb. Remember your time adverbial must be followed by a comma! – Time adverbials – Imperative verbs

Design your own Vikings game; you could invade a city, fight a battle, choose between weapons, create your own longboat etc. Create a mind-map to draft your game and how it will be played.

  • Create a main character
  • Create a quest for them to complete
  • What and how will you win?

Create a list of instructions for your game. Make sure you include Time adverbials and Imperative verbs for each instruction. You may want to draw a picture to match each instruction.

Friday - Here is a extact from a  non-fiction book, use your VIPERS skills to answer the questions based on what you read.

This term Year 3 are focusing on what plants need to grow and survive. This week you are going to focus on why plants need water and what happens when they don’t get enough. You know plants need light, nutrients, carbon dioxide and small amounts of oxygen to survive. If they don’t receive even one of these things they can begin to wilt and die. If plants don’t get enough water they become dehydrated. How do you think we could fix this? Look at the re-hydration timeline and draw what you would think would happen at each stage after watering (re-hydration).

This term Year 4 are focusing on food chains and dangers to the environment. This week you are going to focus on food chains. First, look at this example of a food chain to remind yourself what you already know about food chains:

-they involve a producer, prey, predator (look back to lesson one to remind yourself what these are) and a consumer (consume or eat producers),

-some things might fall into more than one category,

-they normally start with a non-living thing (the sun).

Choose one of the top predators from this document and research and draw its food chain. Draw 2 food chains one from the first page and one from the second. On each food chain, label the predator, producer and prey. As an extra challenge, can you label the consumers?

This week we continue our History topic... the Vikings!

The Anglo-saxons found a way to get rid of the vikings - Danegeld

Record your work on here

This term both year groups are going to be completing the same project. You will be completing a poster project. You will complete 3 posters using different mediums and them compare them at the end of the term. Last term we learnt all about climate change, the purpose of all of your posters is to show your knowledge about climate change (you may want to include pictures, facts, statistics and any other knowledge from last term).

This week you are going to make a poster using Microsoft word or a similar program. This week, design and make your poster using Microsoft word using the skills your learnt last week and any other knowledge of Microsoft word you have.

Keep a copy or a picture of your poster because you will need it later on in the term.

You might want to take a picture of what you have done and post it on seesaw.

This week, we are going to make Viking helmets! If you are feeling super creative, watch this video on how to make a paper mache Viking helmet. If you don’t have these resources then use anything else you have in the house such as paper, card or plastic.

This week in French you will be exploring the different weather across the world! Use the PowerPoint to help you complete the worksheet.
