Watch the following video which shows a Viking village. Create an OSIE grid to explain; what you saw, describe it using your senses, how you could describe it using Similes and Metaphors and how it made you feel.

Make a list of nouns, adjectives and prepositional phrases from the Viking village video. E.g

Under the house.

Next to the path.

On top of spears.

Through the door.

Beside the rock.

Now turn these into Prepositional noun phrases. These need an adjective, adjective, noun followed by a prepositional phrase. E.g-

The blazing, hot flame was beside the path.

The terrifying, mysterious skull was on top of a spear.

Using your OSIE grid and your prepositional noun phrases from yesterday, write a setting description based on the Viking village. What did it look like, what would it be like to live there, how can you describe it using descriptive language.

Create a map of the Viking village. What do you think each building was used for? Use a Key to explain what buildings you have drawn and what they might have been used for. Think about what they do in their village, e.g live, hang food, have feasts, keep animals and make clothes.

Friday - Here is a extact from a  non-fiction book, use your VIPERS skills to answer the questions based on what you read.

This term Year 3 are focusing on what plants need to grow and survive. This week you are going to focus on the roots in a plant. Think back to your previous lessons where you listed where plants can grow. Do they need to have soil to grow? Complete this sentence to show what you think “I think plants do/ do not need soil because…”. Now watch this video Complete sentence again with your new knowledge “I think plants do/ do not need soil because…”.

You should have discovered more about plants and if they need soil or not. Look at these pages to answer the question “why do we use soil if plants don’t need it?” Write your answer into your book.

This term Year 4 are focusing on food chains and dangers to the environment. Today you are going to focus on environmental and habitat changes and how living things adapt (change) to survive. Watch video about climate change and its effect on animals think about how the animals are affected. Look at this food chain and describe what would happen to each living thing if there was a fire. Look at this food chain and describe what would happen to each living thing if there was a flood.

This week we continue our History topic... Anglo-Saxon law!

The Anglo-Saxons had some pretty gruesome punishments, let's learn more about them! - Law and Justice

Use this sheet to record your work on.

This term both year groups are going to be completing the same project. You will be completing a poster project. You will complete 3 posters using different mediums and them compare them at the end of the term. Last term we learnt all about climate change, the purpose of all of your posters is to show your knowledge about climate change (you may want to include pictures, facts, statistics and any other knowledge from last term).

This week you are going to make a poster using photocollage, an online collage website. This week, design and make your poster on photocollage using the skills you learnt last week.

Keep a copy or a picture of your poster because you will need it later on in the term.

You might want to take a picture of what you have done and post it on seesaw.

Look at the following PowerPoint about Norse Gods and Goddesses, choose your favourite and draw them as detailed as you can.

This week look through this powerpoint and then compete the matching activity
