Stibbington

We hadn't even arrived at Stibbington before we had one child asleep!

After lunch, we walked around the Nature reserve to hunt for the buried treasure. We had to read 4-figure grid references to find the location of the clues.

We have had lots of yummy food so far!

Showers done; supper eaten; and chilling before bed!

After breakfast, we took a trip to Sulehay forest where we got to go mini-beast hunting, build hedgehop shelters and see a badger sett.

We also went pond dipping in the afternoon. We caught a newt and a giant dragonfly nymph and a massive leech. We all got very wet due to the rain.

Day 3:

We started with a bit of free time this morning after clearing our rooms.

The adults had been watching the children very carefully the last three awards and some children were given a special award. Awards included: star entertainers, kindest friend, most polite etc.

We started the trip back to school. Quite a few people fell asleep!

Day 1:

We started our day by looking around the grounds for different places. This helped us know our way around.

We got some free time during the day to explore the grounds.

We played bucket rounders after dinner. Mr Abrahams got us wet with his water pistol.

Day 2:

After a fairly decent sleep, the early risers watched TV while the rest were sleeping.

After breakfast, each room had to prepare a 30 second performance for Mr Abrahams and Miss Walker as we inspected their rooms. Some were very original including a new song!

The first activity we did after lunch was owl pellet dissection. We got to find the remains of voles, shrews and mice that the owl had regurgitated.

Due to the rain we have had all day, we decided to do our campfire inside! We still 'toasted' marshmallows and sang songs around it. We had to be careful as it was still very hot!

Our activity this morning was looking at renewable energy. We investigated the best places for solar energy and how many blades on a wind turbine generates the most electricity.
