Greek Legacies

We began our science topic by looking at the relative size of the Sun, Earth and the Moon, The children had to calculate the measurements for a scale diagram before attempting to draw them on the playground using chalk. The children worked very well in their groups.

The children were asked to research their given planet and produce a PicCollage on the iPads about it. Here are their finished posters.

In P.E. we have practising our gymnastic skills. The children had to create a short routine using balances and rolls with a partner. They were set the challenge of incorporating a beanbag into their balances.

On children in Need, Tigers' class paired up with Bobcats for shared reading. All children behaved impeccably.

The children were set the task to use Pic Collage to show how the symbol light is used in the Christmas story.

Ancient Greece Day!!

On Monday, Tigers ended their topic with an Ancient Greece day. We made Greek bread, an Olympic torch, and a Medusa headband. We also created a labyrinth for the Minotaur and columns for the Acropolis. We ended with a mini Olympics and a quiz. The children looked fantastic in their costumes.

During the morning, we also attempted the Mannequin challenge. Some of the children were excellent at it!
